Throughout the year, Roosevelt PTO sponsors community-building events and enrichment events for our school families, students, and teachers.

2023 – 2024 Current & Upcoming Events:

DateEventDescription
October 2nd – November 10thWinter Clothing DriveCleaning out your closet? Finding any winter items that your kids have outgrown? Great, because we may be able to help!  The Roosevelt School PTO is collecting warm winter clothes for children at Roosevelt who may need them.
October – NovemberFall Appeal
What does PTO do??? The Roosevelt PTO funds many things for your Raven, including enrichment activities, field trips, Rosie community events, library books, Newsela subscriptions, supplementary classroom materials, and teacher appreciation.  To fund these important items, we have set our annual Fall Appeal fundraising goal at $35 per student.  Please make your fully tax-deductible donation today and help enrich the experience for all Rosie Ravens.  For those who are able, please consider donating an additional $35 to sponsor a fellow Roosevelt student.

You can write a check payable to Roosevelt Elementary School PTO or contribute online.  Checks payable to Roosevelt Elementary School PTO can be sent to the PTO at 253 Vinton St  Melrose, MA 02176, or dropped off in the office at your convenience.
November 13th – 17thBook FairThe Library Book Fair is coming next week and we need your help to run it! The Book Fair helps to fund the purchase of all the great books your kids love to borrow from the Rosie’s School Library. NEXT WEEK Class visits to the Book Fair will take place Mon 11/13, Thurs 11/16 and Fri 11/17 and will (mostly) mirror the regular library schedule. We’ll need volunteers to serve as cashiers or shopping assistants during each 30-minute class visit. Note that students will not be able to return or checkout library books during Book Fair week. Since Library Media uses the library on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Fair will not be open during those school days. The Book Fair will open Tuesday 11/14 from 5-7pm for families to shop during Family Night. We rely on volunteers to help during that time as well.  Click here to view the Sign Up Genius.
November 20thMelrose Kindness DayThe Melrose Kind committee will be hosting its annual “Melrose Kindness Day” celebrated on November 20th, and our team of volunteers have so many wonderful things planned. We will show our appreciation to all our Roosevelt staff by donating some goodies from the PTO members (our Roosevelt families).  Please email ptorosie@gmail.com if you’d like to donate. We are looking to collect: fruit, granola bars, muffins, Keurig cups, etc.
November 28th 5:00pm – 8:00pmLiberty Bell DineoutTake a Break from the Turkey Support the Roosevelt School by Dining at Liberty Bell.
December 5thWinter WonderlandSave the date for this year’s Winter Wonderland shopping celebration for students.  The cafeteria will be transformed into an enchanting winter scene that all classrooms will visit to shop for small and inexpensive holiday gifts for friends, family, and even pets!  It’s a fun way for students to shop without their adult(s).
* Your Raven will have the same shopping experience as the others whether or not they bring money.  This is an all-inclusive event, and we will not ask for any money to be repaid (though feel free if you’re able!).  If you don’t want your child to shop for any reason, please let your teacher know.
March TBDWorld Culture FairA school favorite returns this year! Ravens get the chance to learn about and report on another country, culimating in a fun evening of sharing their projects and some yummy treats!
